This programme is a great training experience to consider. It provides the practical hands on skills required to perform specimen collections considering the legislative and professional standards required within the industry. All this is done using the current industry methodology and equipment.

For existing staff in hospitals, medical centres, surgeries and business in medical it assists in staff development and up-skill, work efficiency, supporting staff retention, and satisfaction. It is very valuable to people changing careers from other branches of the health industry, such as nursing, Aged care, disabilities etc.

For new entrants to the field, it gives a ‘taster’ of working in the industry, and many companies seeking new employees accept it.

Existing staff

  • In house training workshops are held for specific groups throughout Australia. On successful completion of this short program, you will be issued with a nationally recognized STATEMENT OF ATTAINMENT in partial completion of the HLT37215 Certificate III in Pathology collection.

Nominal hours for this unit of competency : 65 Hrs includes : Trainer Presentation, Power points, Training delivery, Medical equipment, practical exercises and assessments, written assessments

Are there any pre-requisites?

This 5 day programme is currently available to candidates that have minimal experience within the medical field however wish to can the collection skills required to work within the industry.

All training delivery and assessments are performed in English

*18 years of age and above due to consent, privacy and confidentiality requirements

All courses / Programmes are delivered by qualified trainers with extensive Pathology /industry knowledge and experience, which will assess you throughout the course and supervise you on a 1 on 1 basis during your practical exercises; enabling you to confidently perform these skills.
